Willow stared at Buffy as she paced around crazily, weaving around the living room furniture in frustration and ranting about her dreams. Not only was Willow not ready to take on a spell of this caliber since she came back from England, but she wasn't entirely sure it was the right thing to do. She already knew what mind altering spells did to people. "Will, you've gotta help me," Buffy finally announced, slumping on the couch next to her best friend, "Please. You know I wouldn't ask you do something like this if it wasn't really important." "Buffy," Willow said, shaking her red head. Just the idea of performing a spell of any kind, even something as elementary as a protection spell made her want to dive into the nearest closet and cower in fear. Every night she had nightmares about what had happened to her and what could possibily happen if she got out of control again. Each of her friends had been reduced to charred monstrosities numerous times in her sleep. She attempted a feeble look of compassion for her friend as she said, "This sort of spell is dangerous. There's a chance it could really backfire and it messes with your head, besides the fact that I'm not really ready-" "I'm sorry," Buffy mumbled, as she realized just what she was asking. It couldn't be more selfish than to ask something like this of her magick addicted friend. "That was really selfish of me, Will." "Buffy, I really wanna help," Willow called after her, "If there's something else I can do-" "No, Will," Buffy said at the foot of the steps, "I never should've asked you to do that. I'll just think of some other way." Cursing herself over her own stupidity, she went quietly up to her room. What had she been thinking asking Willow to use magick when she knew damn well her friend could hardly walk by the Magic Box without convulsing? *** What happens next? Willow feels guilty for not being able to help and performs a spell anyway? or Buffy seeks someone else out to perform a spell for her? or |
